Win2000/NT ASPI Layer Installation

If you are here, it is because you are having trouble with MP3 CD Burner in Win2000.  Microsoft and Adaptec do not officially support an ASPI layer under Win2000!

First, try this:

If you don't have the latest version, download and install it.  ( On the 3rd  screen, make sure to select the "ASPI drivers" option.)  After installing the ASPI drivers, re-run MP3 CD Burner.  * NOTE: You need to run in Admin mode for this to work *

Otherwise, try the latest Adaptec Drivers:

  1. Go to Adaptec's page @ http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?cat=/Product/ASPI-4.70
  2. Download and install aspi_v470.exe.
  3. Restart computer
  4. Re-launch MP3 CD Burner!

Otherwise, try this:

If you have already downloaded the latest version and you keep getting the message that your CD recorder is not supported, try the following.  * NOTE: You need to run in Admin mode for this to work *

  1. Download the Desernet Broadband Media, Inc driver (wnaspint.dll)
  2. Place the wnaspint.dll in your windows/system32 directory
  3. Rerun MP3 CD Burner.

If that doesn't work, try the Nexitech drivers!

  1. Download and Install Nexitech ASPI drivers. (aspikit.exe)
  2. Rerun MP3 CD Burner.

Finally, if you can't run in Admin mode, try this:

  1. Make sure that you have removed or deleted any ASPI drivers that Mp3 CD Burner may have installed.  It should be in Windows/System32 and would be called "wnaspint.dll".
  2. Download a driver written for Nero.  You can find it at http://www.nero.com/en/w2k.htm .  It is called "wnaspi32.dll".  Place this file in your MP3 CD Burner directory.
  3. Rerun MP3 CD Burner.
