What?
"Ripping" is a term used to describe the process of
copying songs or tracks from audio CDs directly into an MP3 file on
your computer's hard drive. Why
call it "ripping" instead of recording or copying?
The reason is that it can be done faster than the time it takes to
play back the CD. Also, it is an exact digital copy without
any degradation of audio signal quality. Some downloadable rippers
